It currently owns or manages 5 enterprise facilities within the county, home to 46 enterprises and organisations that employ over 300 people. Businesses which operate out of these facilities include: an airline industry recruitment agency; business and financial consulting services; an online food business; medical and care services; international freight clearance agent; horticultural consultancy and IT specialists.

Enterprise Ireland

Enterprise Ireland is the state agency responsible for supporting the development of manufacturing and internationally traded services companies. Enterprise Ireland provides funding and supports for companies – from entrepreneurs with plans for a high potential start-up through to large companies expanding their activities, improving efficiency and growing export sales. Industrial Development Agency (IDA)

The IDA is responsible for the attraction and development of foreign investment in Ireland. The IDA offers a range of services and incentives, including funding and grants, are available to those considering foreign direct investment in Ireland. While investment from overseas manufacturing and internationally traded services are the broad focus of IDA Ireland, the agency continues to work with investors once in Ireland to encourage and assist in expanding and developing their business.

The Regional Skills North East is part of a national programme funded by the Department of Further and Higher Education, Research, Innovation and Science. They work with Employers and Education & Training providers to address the skills needs of Business in Louth, Cavan, and Monaghan.

They are a collaborative partnership between Enterprise, Education & Training providers, Enterprise Agencies, Local Authorities, Government bodies and Local Development Organizations, who collectively are working to advance skills within the region.

The LEADER Rural Development Programme 2023-27 has a total budget of €6 million for County Monaghan. The ‘Local Development Committee’ will be the Local Action Group charged with overseeing this programme and it will be delivered by Monaghan Integrated Development Ltd. Applications offering up to 50% grant aid to rural enterprises are available under the programme.

InterTrade Ireland supports SMEs across the island of Ireland to develop north/south trade and business development opportunities for the mutual benefit of both economies.

InterTrade Ireland’s programmes offer companies funding and expertise to help them export North/South, innovate by developing their products, processes, services and markets, and; helping early stage companies raise venture capital.

Bord Bia

Bord Bia, the Irish Food Board, acts as a link between Irish food, drink and horticulture suppliers and existing and potential customers throughout the world. The Board’s objective is to develop markets for Irish suppliers and bring the taste of Irish food to more consumers throughout the world. Bord Bia is headquartered in Dublin and has a network of overseas offices in Amsterdam, Dusselfdorf, London, Madrid, Milan, Moscow, New York, Paris and Shanghai.
