Major plans have been lodged that will see a significant €4 million investment breathe new life into the former RB Coogan premises at Lakeview Business Park, Castleblayney, bringing new employment, modern facilities and long-term economic benefits to the town.
Fine Living Timber Frames Ltd, a specialist Irish timber frame construction company, has submitted plans to redevelop the site into a modern manufacturing and office facility, supporting the delivery of high-quality, sustainable housing across the region. The project is expected to create 100 new jobs once operational, providing an important boost to local employment.
The proposed development will transform the existing unit into a high-quality business facility, incorporating new office and staff accommodation, upgraded storage and plant areas, improved yard and increased parking as part of the redesign.
Fine Living Timber Frames, currently based in Knockbridge, Co. Louth, is owned by Managing Director Ciaran Byrne and is widely recognised for its expertise in timber frame homes. The company has built a strong reputation for attention to detail, reliability and project management. The move to Castleblayney represents a significant expansion of the business and a long-term commitment to the area.
The redevelopment also represents a positive next chapter for the Lakeview Business Park site following the announced closure of RB Coogan, a family-owned business that has served the community since 1980. The new plans ensure the premises will remain in productive use, supporting local enterprise and contributing to Castleblayney’s ongoing economic vitality.
The planned investment reflects growing confidence in Castleblayney as a location for modern, sustainable industry, creating jobs, supporting the construction sector and strengthening the local economy.
