Monaghan digital health company SPRYT has been named National Enterprise of the Year at the 2025 National Enterprise Awards, celebrating a major milestone for local innovation and entrepreneurship.

Founded in 2022 by Daragh Donohue and Neill Dunwoody, SPRYT developed an AI-powered virtual receptionist to help healthcare providers reduce missed appointments and improve patient communication through platforms like WhatsApp, SMS, and RCS. Early pilots with the NHS reported a 160% increase in appointment conversion rates.

Backed by Local Enterprise Office Monaghan, SPRYT’s win highlights the strength of Monaghan’s enterprise support system.

Cathaoirleach of Monaghan County Council, Cllr. Paul Gibbons, said:
“This is a proud day for Monaghan. SPRYT’s success reflects the innovation and drive in our local business community.”

Monaghan County Council Chief Executive, Robert Burns, added:
“SPRYT’s journey from start-up to national winner shows the impact of strong local support for entrepreneurs.”

The award was presented at a ceremony in the Round Room at Dublin’s Mansion House by Minister of State for Business, Alan Dillon, T.D., who praised the calibre and ambition of this year’s finalists.

Now in its 25th year, the National Enterprise Awards recognise outstanding small businesses in categories such as Innovation, Export, Sustainability, and Start-Up.
