For over sixty years, Hollands of Emyvale Ltd. has stood at the heart of its community, more than just a hardware store, it is a trusted local institution serving North Monaghan and the surrounding region.
Established by the Holland family, this independent, family-run business has built its reputation on reliability, range, and above all, relationships. From hardware and building materials to farm supplies, fuel, and homewares, Hollands has become synonymous with one simple promise often heard locally: “You’ll get it in Holland’s.”
But what truly sets Hollands apart is its unwavering commitment to community. During times of crisis; including the Covid-19 pandemic, severe storms, and power outages, the team consistently went above and beyond. Whether it meant staying open late, sourcing essential supplies, or simply being there when people needed support, Hollands proved itself as a cornerstone of resilience and local care.
The business has grown significantly over the decades. Today, it includes a well-stocked hardware store, along with extensive yard facilities supplying animal feed, fertilisers, timber, and a wide range of building products. Additional storage areas accommodate concrete products, steel, pipes, and bulk materials. Supporting this operation is a dedicated fleet of delivery trucks and vans, ensuring customers across the region receive what they need, when they need it.
As a proud member of the Irish Hardware & Building Materials Association (IHBMA), Hollands continues to combine industry expertise with deep local knowledge. Their success has been built on personal service, customer loyalty, and an understanding of the needs of rural and agricultural communities.
Looking ahead, plans for redevelopment and expansion signal an exciting new chapter. While the business evolves, its core values remain unchanged; commitment to quality, service, and community.
Hollands of Emyvale is not just a business success story; it is a testament to the enduring strength of family enterprise in Monaghan.
