Founded in 2022 by entrepreneurs Neill Dunwoody and Daragh Donohue, SPRYT emerged from County Monaghan with a bold mission: to re-imagine access to healthcare and ensure patients get to the appointments that save lives. What began as an idea in rural Ireland is now a global health-tech company transforming how people connect with care.
At the heart of SPRYT is Asa, an AI receptionist that allows patients to manage and pay for their appointments through WhatsApp, SMS, or RCS — anytime, in their own language, just like talking to a human receptionist. Asa not only makes booking and rescheduling simple but also predicts and reduces no-shows, easing the burden on health systems while increasing patient engagement.
SPRYT’s journey started with strong support from Local Enterprise Office Monaghan and has since expanded through partnerships with some of the world’s most respected healthcare organisations. From the NHS in North Central London (1.9 million patients) to collaborations with Mayo Clinic, RWJ Barnabas, Cleveland Clinic, and Sermas in Spain, SPRYT has shown how Irish innovation can deliver global health impact.
The results speak for themselves: Asa has delivered a 160% increase in patient engagement compared to traditional methods, improved attendance at vital cancer screenings, and freed clinical teams from thousands of hours of administrative work. SPRYT is also a proud member of CancerX (part of the White House Cancer Moonshot) and has been recognised at the HIMSS Pitchfest, UK Start-Up Awards, and National Enterprise Awards, among others.
While SPRYT’s reach is now global, it remains anchored in its Monaghan roots — proof that rural innovation can change the world. Looking ahead, the team continues to scale in the UK, USA, and beyond, driven by a vision of saving lives, time, and money for health systems everywhere.
